Hi Quirky Peoples it's me again, Lyn, just to remind you my challenge of...
Pile it High! Layer it Up and try some 3D!
...still has a week to run, so come and play! Go HERE to see our creations from last week and to find Mr Linky to join in.
Our Fabulous sponsors for this fortnight are...
Who have supplied our team with some fantastic digital images, which  we've showcased here.
and
 1st Prize: 3 images from Robyn's Fetish
2nd Prize: $5 of Images from Digital Delights
3rd Prize: 1 image from Robyn's Fetish

Here's a few more of our teams makes, first Cindy our new 2 month Guest Designer!
Cindy.
'Lambchop' is the image I chose to use this time.   This image also spoke to paper piecing, but also embossing!  I used Stampin' Up's new Decorative Dots embossing folder to emboss parts of the lamb and give her dimension.  I used my markers to colour the flowers a few times and also pop dotted them.  I have more detailed photos and steps on my blog if you are interested :)

and the rest of the Quirky Crafts Team

I chose to make a layered tag for this challenge using and image from ''Robins Fetish' . It is a mantilla tag and as a base layer I chose 3 colours of paint and randomly covered the tag.
I used pieces of lace, trimmings, hessian and corrugated card to give more layers and texture paste through a stencil to add depth..
I added a piece of mount board and a smaller tag painted  the same colours, and wrapped some
hessian 'ribbon' a around each piece. To the mount board I added my image, coloured with 'Montana
Paint Pens' and to the small tag I glued a metal embellishment...

You can see all of the different layers in these photos, and the final thing I added were a few buttons.
I think each layers adds further interest to the tag. It's a very tactile piece and each time I look at it, I see something slightly different.....happy crafting folks x

I'm not late honest!! I  added  my make yesterday but it vanished along with all my links!! Never mind! Well, as you can see I chose to make a box for my last weeks card, seeing it wouldn't fit into it's envelope! I've used almost the same coloured card and papers as before but didn't 3D Smart Owl  (from Robins Fetish) as I thought there was enough layers for a box lid! I have glossed over the Owls Glasses/eyes just to make them pop out and shine a bit more with Glossy Accents. I've also added yellow foam shapes and an owl charm.
By the looks of it... other makes may have gone missing too.... so watch out for them later!!

Cazzy

For my project, I used the digital stamp "Shells 4 Sale" from our sponsor Robyn `s Fetish. To make the perfect setting for the business of this child, make a card with layered waves. Seal the color with Spectrum Noir markers and cut the waves, I used the Silhouette Cameo.

Belinda Bunny is the image that I chose for this week reminder. Belinda Bunny ,is one of the beautiful images you can find in Robyn's Fetishwho is also our sponsor for this challenge.

In my case, I used layers, both in the images and in the rest of the card. I painted three sets of flowers, two sets of clouds and a complete image. Once I painted with my Promakers, cut out one by one the images and I placed them in layers.
Finally, I emboss  the bottom of the card to add dimension. I placed a frame, which stick with double layer foam adhesive. Also with double layer foam adhesive,  I placed a sentiment and a flower, that is also made into layers. Enjoy the challenge and see you soon!!!

That's it for now!  It's your turn to have a go and join in. Let's see some fabulous layering and pile it high! Scroll down or go here to find last weeks challenge and Mr Linky!!

Challenge #4:Let's Quirky Well, Pile it High! Layer it Up and 3D it!

Hi Quirky people, It's New Challenge Time Again! It's Lyn here and my turn to set the theme! Well you may have noticed I like to 3D my cards, soooo this is a nice easy challenge because all you have to do is...
Pile it High! Layer it Up and try some 3D!
The more you do the more we'll love it!!
Our Fabulous sponsors for this fortnight are...
Who have supplied our team with some fantastic digital images, which  we've showcased here.
and
 1st Prize: 3 images from Robyn's Fetish
2nd Prize: $5 of Images from Digital Delights
3rd Prize: 1 image from Robyn's Fetish

Here's some inspiration from our Quirky Team using images supplied by Robyn's Fetish, first our Guest Designer....
Cindy.

Cindy is our new 2 month Guest Designer, welcome Cindy!

I had this paper from Kaisercraft called 'What a Hoot' that I had picked up because I LOVED it but no plans.  This image gave me a plan to do with it. :)
I started off by printing 4 copies of the image onto copic paper, about 3" square (the nice thing about digi images... you can resize to your use!) I coloured the images with my Stampin' Up markers, then cut out layers from two of them. Once finished colouring, I cut out a full image with Spellbinders Labels 2.
The spare image was roughly cut out and used as a mask to cover the colouring and then sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang: Treasure Island Turquoise.
I covered a card front with a 5x6.5" piece of the pattered paper, then a 4.5x6" of the reverse side.
The ribbons running down the side are from Magenta and Maya Arts.
The die cut image was matted with a piece of the same paper then pop dotted onto the front of the
card.
The pieces I cut out of the other coloured images were then pop dotted on top of the main image.
Finishing touches include the 'Thanks' stamp by Stampin' Up, White Zig Wink of Stella brush on the glasses and a couple of green plastic squares from my kit.

and Our past winner.....

Desire used It's a Beary Nice Day from Robyn's Fetish, what a great sentiment, and lots of layers and 3d elements.
and the Quirky Craft's Team
I love to work on 3D paper crafting, so I`m really excited about Lynn`s challenge.
For this project I chose this beautiful Robin`s Fetish digi "Rain, rain go away".
I made a round easel card and piled up some brown doily border dies over a pale rose shades, to finally show this lovely girl looking trough the window.
For a final 3D touch, I added two delicate butterflies with their wings up, as if they were flying.
To color the digi I used Spectrum Noir Pens and Silhouette Cameo for all the paper cutting.

First I have to thank Lyn for this challenge. Working in layers is something that I like, and I especially loved working with this image. To give dimension to the layers, I used double-sided foam adhesive and I highlighted some parts of the image.
Secondly, I have to say I am very happy because I used my Valentine gift, my Spectrum Noir Markers to paint this beautiful image. By the way, this image is Smart Owl and is courtesy of our great sponsor Robyn's Fetish.

Once I finished with the image. I placed it on a base card, I used an adhesive edge and a sentiment according to the theme. I hope you enjoy this challenge as much as I have enjoyed.
Lyn
Well, here's my 3D card and I've also used the Smart Owl from Robin's Fetish. I've added loads of layers starting with red and black to cover the blank card and then have layers up some 'school words' backing paper, more layering for the topper plus of course, I've 3D-ed the Owl! I've also added an apple brad and a pencil and ABC  buttons. The other papers were from my stash. The sentiment I made on the computer...black background with white writing!

Gemma
I love the theme of this challenge, it's right up my street. I love layers, 3D projects and anything mixed media...... Our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and I chose the image of a bird and bird box..
I used a small canvas and tried to add depth to it by adding several layers. Unfortunately the photos aren't very good at showing the layers clearly...
The first layer was paper blocking, which is basically creating a background using varying sized, patterned, and coloured papers (which are from my stash).  There was then a layer of paint, added embellishments, and a large paper flower which I made.
I finished the canvas off by edging it in black and applying a couple more embellishments, and not forgetting the use of Treasure Gold gilding wax over some embellishments and around the edge.......

This image is called Ms Lamb Chop, and I didn't immediately think baby card (though it crossed my mind), once I had coloured the flowers and added layers of HOTP papers and a gorgeous grosgrain spotty ribbon from Crafty Ribbons the card just yelled out Baby Girl! I coloured the image with Promarkers, and cut out several layers of the lamb to decoupage it (I will take a better photo to show this soon) added some Stickles glue to the flowers (and having decided to do this today as I was trying to finish the card a few accidents were inevitable, so I had to reapply it a few times and it is very much wet in the photo).
Sorry I am late again, seems to happen every time, this is due partly to ongoing computer problems and family visiting - details on my blog! (Also I added this earlier and it disappeared again).

                             Guest Designer-Konica

Konica made this lovely card using "AKV House" and "Attitude Car" from our sponsor Bugaboo.

This is Konica's last project as 2 month Guest Designer, well ít was more like 3 months in the end! We would like to thank Konica for being a great guest designer and making some wonderful projects, and to wish her the best with her degree! Thank you Konica!

Design Team:

For this challenge I decided to use an image from 'Squigglefly', it was too cute not too..!
I chose to use a square hardboard tile and a smaller, shaped tile for the image to sit on.  I have just noticed that there should be a sentiment attached to the project, but I had obviously forgotten to do it before I took the photo!  If I'd been focused, it would've said "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain".....
A couple of my wishes for this year are to make more time for my crafts, and to make sure I see the positives in any situation, and this quote was ideal for me..just a shame I forgot to put the sentiment on!

I coloured my image with Prisma Pencils, and used Tim Holtz Distress Paints for the hardboard items.  To tie everything together, I used a raindrop stencil and a raindrop rubber stamp, in varying shades of blue.  Then for some added sparkle, I used a gorgeous blue Glimmer Mist over the top for some glitzy raindrops.......

Lyn

My wishes for this year is to 'grow' my Dog Walking and Pet Sitting business. I still had last weeks digi images by Bugaboo saved as a scene on my computer so thought I'd use them again plus another super digi by SquigglyFly Sam's Rainy Day, along with the rainy day sentiment. We've had so much rain this year I thought, well I might as well learn to dance and treat myself to a very big umbrella! I've also used Bugaboo's Pretty Puppy Puppy Love-wagtail and of course The Attitude car!

Cazzy
(I put this in once, it was gone again so had to start over, I even copied my links from here to my blog, so I know it was there!)
Here are more pages from my journal, I made a page for every certificate with a blank to journal on.
This was my first certificate - slimmer of the week!  I decided to journal my thoughts, here in a Squigglefly freebie journal frame and some journalling spots I stamped with Unity Blossom Stackers set. Fat Mouse from Bugaboo and scales from Squigglefly.

The plan is all about healthy eating, it fitted in with my normal diet just fine, a few adjustments, and here I am on a super healthy eating plan, not a diet! I can still eat treats, but I count my chocolate in squares per day now not bars per day! Peaches,Nibbles with carrot and scales from Squigglefly, and chocolate from Bugaboo.

This was my half stone award, that is 7 pounds!

I decided not to bore you with every page, besides I haven't filled them in yet! I hope to add more thoughts, images and photos to each page. Sassy Gal Angel is from Bugaboo.

She accompanies my latest certificate for 2 and a half stones weight loss, that is 35 pounds! I always worked in kilos before this, but have to think in Imperial again! I could have had kilos if I had known and said at the beginning, but then I would be different to everyone else - and how would they work out the certificates?

This page is the start of my ongoing wishes for 2014, I want to lose the same again - I know now that I can do it! Then I will be able to play with my little grandson as he gets older, and do everything else I want to (well not everything, that would take a miracle - but more than if I don't do this), and improve my health too! I used Girlz get your craft on, and beach boy brat from Bugaboo, and there is room for more.

For this reminder I used the "Beautiful Bather" digi and the sentiment "Beautiful Bather Pamper yourself" from our sponsor Squigglefly, because it shows one of my 2014 wishes "take time to pamper myself" :o)
I made an easel card and a frame for this lovely digi and colored it with Spectrum Noir Pens.

For this time, I made a frame using the digs: I Do Couple, House and Love4sq from our sponsor Squigglefly. I printed the images in an old book and after that I painted the images. I want to remember my resolution: Do not forget this magical words.
